How to Become a DSP: The full form of DSP is Deputy Superintendent of Police. DSP refers to the rank of a police officer in the Indian police force. A representative of the state police who heads the state police officers is known as the DSP. The deputy superintendent of police rank insignia consists of three stars above the shoulder bandage. Under state government laws, DSPs are similar to Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACP) and can be promoted to IPS after a few years of service. Annual reviews are carried out to directly assign the police force to the rank of DSP. After the aforementioned years of service, inspectors are often promoted to the DSP.
